"So you prefer fighting to training?" Kari was a non-mammel eater so the thought of eating monkey was terrifing. Also there was a little blood outside her mouth, making her look like some ancient goddess.

"Yeah. Especially after trying Hydra's never-ending attempt to control the lakes." She rubbed her face. "Want some soda?" She pointed to a coouple of cans that were floating over to the table."

"Nah, prefer lemonade. Your past seems so interesting!" Kari fininished her last bite of Ramen, then drank some lemonade to wash it down. "Who else was on your team in Carpathia?"

She seemed to think hard. "Let's see," she began. "Me, Hydra, Dark, An, Falcon, and Wasp. I think . . ." She trailed off, scratching her head.
"I think that's it." She finishes. "An was my best friend ever."

Panther thought for a minute. "She was a lot like you, actually," she said. "She was really hyper all the time, though. And she loved video games. A definite tomboy."
She nearly laughed, thinking about the time An had cut her hair and tricked a newcomer into thinking she was actually a boy named Gary. She told Hikari about it, too.
"The thing is, she didn't even do anything about her chest," she said, breathing deeply so as not to burst into laughter. "And An wasn't exactly flat, if you catch my drift."

Hikari laughed loudly at this. "You tell people anything and they will believe it, even if the truth is right before their eyes. I actually have never played a video game before. I'll have to try it sometime. She kind of reminds me of this one boy I knew who actually convinced a couple that he was a girl until the first doctors appointment."

"Girls got adopted more often then guys. Especially pretty, young ones. Couples, at least the woman, seem to like them. I always hid whenever someone cam looking for a child, though."

Kari laughed. "And why do you say that?"

She shrugged. "I dunno. It seems like a bad idea to get adopted."

"I was waiting for my parents. I sound like little orphan Annie, but I believe they're out there somewhere." Her eyes showed hope, but had momentarily lost their sparkle.

Panther turned VERY quiet. At least she wasn't red.
She was thinking about her own parents, her sister, her brother, all of them gone. It was quiet for a few moments.
"So . . . More pizza?"

Hikari smiled. "Nah, I'm going to go to my rooms. I have a great desire for a long nap." She picked up her stuff and brought it over to the sink. She filled her bown with water, then waved at panther good-bye, and walked out the door.
